HIGHLIGHTS OF MEKONG DELTA TOUR 4 DAYS 3 NIGHTS

Around 08:00, our tour guide will pick you up at your hotel lobby, then drive 90 km (2hrs) to Ben Tre. The boat will cruise along the Ham Luong River (a branch of the Mekong) and stop at various places to visit such as a brickworks, a salt refinery, a coconut processing workshop, and a mat weaving house. The boat will then stop at a quiet village where you can have a short walk to experience real Delta village life and take a bicycle ride through dense coconut plantations.

Stop for lunch before taking the sampan along a narrow canal lined with mangrove trees then continue taking the boat trip to get back to Ham Luong harbor where you continue your trip to visit the bustling market and streets full of commercial activity provides a vibrant tableau for street photography.

Overnight in Ben Tre.

After breakfast at the hotel, we will head to the Khmer cultural heartland of Tra Vinh, where we have a chance to visit some of the 141 Khmer temples practicing the Theravada branch of Buddhism – a wonderful opportunity to experience these serene, peaceful places and take photos of some wonderful portraits of the young monks in their saffron-colored robes.

After lunch, we continue our trip through beautiful Khmer villages & stop at some old Khmer Temples to visit. Continue the trip to Cau Quan and take the ferry to the small beautiful Island named “Cu Lao Dung”. On unpaved roads with tiny orchards along the riverside, we can stop for a while for a break & take photos then drive a further 3 km to another ferry, Dai Ngai, Soc Trang province.

Explore Soc Trang by night!

After breakfast, we will take a leisure drive to Can Tho. On the way, we have a great chance to visit Tiger Island which is located across from the city of Long Xuyen. Upon our arrival, we will cycle around to explore the island. The locals here have preserved their traditional blue houses whose main rooms are open to the outside, visible through partitions made of wooden bars.

You have lunch with a local family before driving to Can Tho.

Overnight in Can Tho.

In the morning, we make the boat cruise to see the Cai Rang floating market (the nicest one with heaps of rowing boats), truly highlights of any Vietnam Tours where you will enjoy the beautiful scenery and see the daily activities of the locals who live along the Mekong canals and later, you will roam through the village to visit a rice husking mill, rice noodles making shop which are nice chances to discover the daily life of Vietnamese people in Mekong Delta.

Around noon, transfer back to Ho Chi Minh.
